ManagAIR®
What is it and how can it help me?
ManagAIR® is a computer-operated system of hardware and Windows® based software that will minimize the time you and your personnel spend in the compressor room while significantly reducing energy costs, maintenance costs, and downtime. Developed and used by Air Technologies compressor technicians for our DirectAIR® compressed air utility service, it is the most advanced, yet easy to use, compressed air system monitoring and control package available today.
ManagAIR® $ Significantly improves efficiency
to minimize energy costs
$ Will maintain system pressure within 5 psi
Eliminates the need for an ‘intermediate controller or
Demand Expander”
$ Lower system pressure significantly reduces air demand
(leaks and unregulated demand)
$ Operates the minimum # of compressors to meet the
demand
$ Only one compressor trims at all times - The most efficient
way to run a compressor is fully loaded or turned off.
$ Support for VSD compressors
$ Automatic scheduled system pressure changes and/or
start/stop of the system
$ Most efficient compressor sequence order can be
determined by ManagAIR® or from flow data

What Type of Maintenance Do You Perform?
We beleive that when your equipment is welll maintained it will last longer, run better, operate more efficiently and have less of a chance of breaking down. Do you agree?
Does the cost of maintenance exceed the cost of the equipment over the life cycle of the equipment? This chart shows the breakdown of cost over a 10 year life cycle. As you can see your energy cost far exceeds the cost of maintenance and the original cost of the equipment. With the high cost of energy companies are trying to control the energy costs through
proper maintenance, controls and education.
There are four types of maintenance...
1. Breakdown Maintenance
- You fix it when it breaks
- Most expensive (the fix controls you,
you do not control the fix)
- Worst equipment life cycle
2. Preventive Maintenance
- Based on factory recommendations
- Provides long equipment life
- Some components end up being replaced prematurely (do not use full service life)
- Provides good reliability
3. Equipment Monitoring
- Monitor critical operating parameters
- May prevent shutdown by warning/alert when critical operating parameters are out of spec.
- Will not prevent component wear out/failure
- Should not replace a preventive maintenance program
- Provides some customer confidence in equipment operating conditions & preventing some shutdowns
4. Precision Maintenance
- Utilizes years of experience to put together a preventive maintenance program (known life expectancy of components, etc.)
- Monitor equipment critical operating parameters to prevent nuisance shutdowns
- Provides longest component life, equipment life, best operating efficiency, lowest equipment life cycle costs
- Replace parts when they need replaced - not calendar or hour based.
If you are currently in the Breakdown Maintenance mode we encourage you to call us to receive a FREE maintenance evaluation. This will give you steps on how to set up a preventive maintenance plan that will give your equipment longer life and your plant more reliability.

The couple was delighted when their long wait to adopt a baby came to an end. The adoption center called and told them that there was a wonderful Russian baby boy available, and the couple took him without hesitation.
On the way home from the adoption center, they stopped by the local college so they each could enroll in night courses.
After they filled out the forms, the registration clerk inquired, "What ever possessed you to study Russian?"
The couple said proudly, "We just adopted a Russian baby. In a year or so, when he begins to talk, we want to be able to understand him."

Meet Chris Hinderer!
Chris is one of our top-notch service technicians. He has worked for Air Technologies over 14 years. Chris is one of our more interesting associates his hobbies are sailing, golf, shooting shotguns and spitting fire. As a matter of fact, he competed in Barnum & Bailey circus act games in 1990. He didn't win but he did spit fire a whopping 24'. He's a semi-pro golfer with a handicap of 10. He never buys new golf balls. He carries a mask and fins in his golf bag and after each round he cools off by taking a dip in the lake and fetches all the balls from the bottom. He sells the extras on ebay.
One of his co-workers told us that Chris was a big Ozzy Osborne fan in high school and he was a member of the yodeling club. So, can't you just picture Chris yodeling to the tunes of Black Sabbath. Next time you see Chris ask him to belt out a tune.

Why Oil Sampling is IMPORTANT!
Oil is the "lifeblood" of machines and equipment. Routine testing and analysis can show you how the condition of your oil can affect equipment performance and, ultimately, your bottom line. Oil sampling can: Extend oil change intervals, Extend equipment life, Identify minor problems before they become major failures and Maximize asset reliability.
This is a sample of an oil analysis report. As you can see with the red circles it shows this oil has problems and needs to be changed. and most likely, damage has been caused to the compressor. This compressor has not had the oil changed in over 13000 hours. It has very high TAN levels (acid) as well as many other problems. This high TAN level can cause shellacking in the coolers and is a very expensive repair. For oil sampling please call us at 513-218-9136.
